We recommend giving your backers some early notice and instruction before sending survey notifications via Crowd Control. The following is a suggested script that can be sent via a project update on Kickstarter and should be customized to meet the needs of your project:
Thank you for your support in helping us reach our funding goal. We're excited to get started with the next steps and need you to be aware of some important details.
First, we have to wait for Kickstarter to transfer funds. This process starts immediately after the campaign ends and usually takes 14 days to complete. If you received a notification that your payment was declined then you must update your payment method within this period to receive your reward.
Once funds have been transferred we need you to tell us where to ship your reward. We will be using our online store to collect your shipping address and any specific product information that may be needed. The following instructions will help with survey completion:
- Wait for your survey notification from [Sender Name]. (This message will be sent to the email address associated with your Kickstarter account.)
- Click the button that says ‘click here to start’
- Confirm your reward [and select the desired products]
- Shop our backer exclusive items (optional)
- Enter your shipping address
- Your pledge will be applied to your cart at checkout after you have entered your shipping address. Please reply to your survey email if you are asked for a payment method when not purchasing items exceeding your pledge.
- Complete the order
You will receive a confirmation email once you have completed checkout for your survey. Do not share your survey link as it is specific to you and your pledge. We will keep you updated via Kickstarter regarding production and delivery details.
