Testing requirements

Relocate Address Editor relies on a Shopify order ID to function. As such, previewing app functionality can only be done using an unfulfilled order on the store. An order can be created by you for this purpose or you can simply use an existing order from the store.



Order confirmation emails

The 'update address' button will only be displayed in new order confirmation emails after the optional code has been added to the store's order confirmation email template. The button will not show in the template preview since there is no Shopify order ID associated with this view. Previewing the 'update address' button in an order confirmation can be done by creating a new order on Shopify or by resending the order confirmation email for an existing, unfulfilled order.


Preview using an existing order created by you:

  1. View an existing, unfulfilled order on Shopify.  
  2. Scroll down to the timeline for the order and click resend email.
  3. Check your email to confirm the 'update address' button functions as expected.


Preview using an existing order created by a customer:

  1. View an existing, unfulfilled order on Shopify.  
  2. Click on edit by the contact information for the order.
  3. Highlight the existing customer email and use cut (Ctrl+X on Windows, Command+X on Mac) to remove the email address.
  4. Replace the email with one controlled by you and click save. Do not update the customer profile if prompted.
  5. Scroll down to the timeline for the order and click resend email.
  6. Check your email to confirm the 'update address' button functions as expected.
  7. Click on edit by the contact information for the order and replace the original customer's email address by using paste (Ctrl+V on Windows, Command+V on Mac) then click save.



Order status page

The order status page can be viewed via three different methods.

  1. Immediately after completing checkout.
  2. By clicking the 'view your order' button in any order confirmation email (no template edits required).
  3. Via the Shopify admin.


Accessing the order status page via admin:

  1. View an existing, unfulfilled order on Shopify. 
  2. Click more actions at the top right of the order details page.
  3. Click view order status page.
