Summary
The widget page is an optional, secondary survey resource that can be used to promote social media channels and solicit backer participation in things like surveys and referral programs. The widget page template is installed on a store's live them alongside other survey templates and can be customized in the settings section when customizing a theme.
On this page:
Feature overview
The primary purpose of the widget page is to provide additional value to a business within backer surveys. This is accomplished through:
- Social media engagement opportunities
- Third-party embedded widgets (e.g. SurveyMonkey and ReferralCandy)
Supported social media platforms
The social media platforms supported within the widget page are:
- Instagram*
- YouTube
*Learn more about sharing an Instagram account.

See more details.
Activation
Activating the widget page template is done by creating a new page on Shopify and selecting the template with the suffix page.crowdcontrol.
The following sections can be customized within the widget page:
- Social media section title
- Enable/disable social media channel
- Displayed sort order of social media channels
- Embedded widget option 1 w/ custom title
- Embedded widget option 2 w/ custom title
- Bottom button options
Preview
Survey collections can be previewed by clicking view at the top of the editor. At least one live product must be added to a survey collection before a proper preview is available. Using at least one reward and one add-on product is recommended.
Incognito/private browsing
Viewing survey collections and widget pages with the incognito/private mode of a web browser is recommended (doing this ensures you are viewing the latest details and not previously cached information).
Customize
Widget page templates are customized within theme settings when customizing a theme.
Live editing
Previewing changes as they are made can be somewhat unintuitive since survey pages aren't usually listed in a site's navigation menu. You can view changes as you make them by adding the page URL to the customization URL with # in between them.
Example
Customization URL (as seen when editing a theme): store.myshopify.com/admin/themes/1234/editor
Page URL (as seen when viewing a page): store.com/pages/widget-page-name
Amended URL: store.myshopify.com/admin/themes/1234/editor#/pages/widget-page-name
